A visit to the Acropolis is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A memory worth sharing with your family and friends. The Parthenon, a temple dedicated to the city’s patron goddess Athena, stands on the sacred hill. But the Acropolis is not only the Parthenon.
As you enter you will pass by the Propylaea, the luxurious gateway to the Acropolis. It is a work of Doric style. They consist of three naves: the main lodge and the two wings. Next you will see Erechtheion. The temple is dedicated to Athena and Poseidon. Its south side is adorned by six columns in the form of women, the so-called “Karyatides”. Next you will see the Temple of Athena Nike or Temple of the Apteros Nike, where the xanoanum of the goddess Athena Nike (Nike in Greek means victory) was kept, the “apteros”, i.e. without wings, so that she would never leave the city of Athens.
As you can see there is much to admire. For this reason, you should hire a professional photographer in order to marvel unperturbed about who will take pictures of you.
